Regenia Sanders, SSA’s Vice President of Supply Chain and Business Technology, was quoted in a Procurement Leaders Magazine article on the integration of robotics in supply chain. Regenia commented about how some of the most advanced companies in the business world, including Amazon, are already deploying robotic technologies. Regenia cites how Amazon invested more than $775m in acquiring Kiva Systems which supplies Amazon with robotics that can locate and bring workers stock for selection and picking. “This allows for a much more streamlined workforce and higher productivity,” she notes. However, she adds, the majority of companies have not implemented anything comparable.
