As part of our new leadership spotlight series, we’re sitting down with leaders across Council Advisors—including our colleagues at SSA & Company, The Miles Group, and High Lantern Group—to share insights on leadership, execution, and what it takes to drive results in today’s business environment.
What’s the biggest opportunity for healthcare leaders looking to shape policy and public understanding?
The biggest opportunity for healthcare leaders is to bring people together — from scientists and policymakers to advocates and patients — to turn medical progress into real-world impact. When these groups work in partnership, we can build the policies, systems, and trust needed to make breakthroughs accessible and understood. Leaders who focus on coalition-building will not only speed access to care but also strengthen public confidence in innovation.
You’ve led major efforts on Alzheimer’s and mental health. What does it take to move the needle on complex issues?
While important progress has been made in treating Alzheimer’s, mental health, and other neurological conditions — progress we are proud to have contributed to — the challenge remains ensuring innovation reaches patients and those at risk. That’s why we focus on shaping policies and payment systems that make adoption possible. We believe that by aligning incentives across regulators, providers, payers, and innovators, we can accelerate both access and impact.
What drew you to HLG, and how does the firm’s model support impact at scale?
I was drawn to High Lantern Group because it’s a place where you can shape ideas at the intersection of business, policy, and society. Our model brings strategy, policy, and communications together, allowing us to build coalitions, prepare markets, and create trusted narratives. That’s how we help leaders drive lasting impact at scale.
